Free Ways to Drive Website Traffic 2021- #2
You soon realize after launching your site that was just the first step of many in the wild world of increasing traffic to your website. Just because you built it does not mean they will come. You need a marketing plan that drives traffic to your site. This week we will be talking about blogs and some important things you need to keep in mind when making content. Each week I will post another article in the series of 17ways you can increase your website traffic for free.
2. Blog for increased traffic
In a previous article I talked about what website traffic means. If you have just launched your website or it is in the early stages, concentrate on finding keywords that align with your business niche to create your blog content and store pages. Think about which types of content you’d want to create based on your target audience, sales persona, preferences, niche, and competition.
Try to make sure that most of your content is timeless. Timeless content is the kind of content that can live forever on the web and that time won’t make irrelevant. If you create a post about this year’s movie nominations this will likely not be relevant in a few months time. However a post about the greatest movie classics will continue to be relevant for years.
The content you post is important. As long as you create interesting, relevant and useful content on your site or blog, you'll keep the visitors coming back for more and more. Also, the better your content is, the more interactive your visitors will be. They will share your content for you, helping to promote your site for you.
It is also important to use good images in any blog posts you publish. It helps readers better understand what you are writing about (especially if you are writing about complex topics – visual aids can help simplify the information). Good pictures elicit an emotional response.
The main picture on your post will typically show up whenever your visitors share one of your posts on social media, and if it is a boring picture, it’s far less likely to generate clickthroughs to your site.
Sites that drive a lot of traffic have pages with information that people are looking for. To get noticed by the right audience make a list of topics and phrases to target. Consider: If I were looking for this product/service/article, how would I search? What words would I use? What phrases? Think about your visitor-to-be is the key to getting quality traffic.
